Swing Arm Desk Lamp, Satin NickelReviewsBrightness is awkward, the lamp really does not have as many positions as you would think. I don't recommend this lamp for studying, and why else would anyone need a lamp? Wonderful Lamp, nice and movable, really sturdy, my complain is to keep it completely out of moisture because I feel like there is a tendency to corrode with time. Not only that, but also when you put a light bulb (energy saving type Nvision 14 watts = 60 watts) it gets a little bit hot if you're not in a well ventilated area, I can't imagine if it was a halogen light bulb. Overral, Great lamp, just make sure you're in a well ventilated area before turning it on. I wish I would have kept looking. The lamp is nice, but I have since seen it elsewhere and the shipping and handling charges are almost as much as the cost of the lamp itself. Ridiculous because it felt like I bought it from the back of a truck with how badly it was packed. It took a long time to arrive. I have to agree with a previous review, the packing and handling were a mess and the shipping charge is outrageous. This appears to be a good lamp - well designed and well made, but I can't give it more than two stars because of the vendor: the S&H charge ($13.84) was outrageous and the `handling' was beyond sloppy - it seems to have been packed by a six-year-old with misanthropic tendencies, I'm surprised it survived the journey. I bought this swing arm for my computer and it turned out to be just what I was looking for, nice finish , easy to assemble great price. Average Rating:![]() |

Wolfcraft 4525 Drill Guide Attachment for 1/4-Inch or 3/8-Inch DrillsReviewsI bought this to drill multiple shallow holes in the vertical sides of an entertainment center to use shelf pins for maximum shelf adjustability. For drilling the same holes repeatedly and wanting them the same this is just not the best tool. As stated by others the springs are too stiff, especially for a large number of holes (80) which will wear your arms out. The instability of the base combined with the lean "flex" of the guide rods caused as you apply the extra pressure you have to because of the springs make the difference between drilling by hand and using this device basically undetectable. I would have to say, if you're not that concerned, just drill by hand and if you want anywhere near precise, get a drill press of a better intermediate attachment. I recently purchased the Wolfcraft 4525 Drill Guide for a woodworking project. I do not have room for a drill press and needed to make some holes for some bookcase shelves. So here is the good, bad, and ugly. The Good: 1) It is a relatively well made tool. I have dropped it several times while it was still attached to my old B & D 1/2" drill with no damage. The spring action and adjustable angle are relatively smooth. 2) It helps make repetitive drilling much faster. It is much better than taping the drill bit to mark a desired depth 3) It makes pretty good 90 degree holes 4) There is nothing else quite like it on the market. 5)Stores easily The Bad: 1)The play in the slide and bit attachment keeps the bit from always landing in the same spot. I think using brad point bits would make centering much more accurate. I also think a few modifications to the design could fix the problem. 2)The blue knobs on top that hold the desired angle seem to come loose often 3)Setting the right depth can be tricky because of the pressure of the springs. But once it is set it does not become unadjusted easily. The ugly: I think Wolfcraft should spend a little more time developing this tool. It is a cheap, simple, and effective replacement for a drill press. I would be willing to pay more money for a more well designed unit. Haven't used it yet, but Sears sells this under the Craftsman brand with the only difference being all plastic bits are black. Would also like to see if I can replace the chuck with a keyless 1/2" one. I have tried another drill guide, and it is not made as sturdy and strong as the wolfcraft. This guide holds drill very well and enables better accuarcy. I am pleased with the product and the fast and courteous service afforded me by Amazon. thank you very much. cfk Angle guide is good for drilling wood, but the unstable base is a problem drilling angles in metal and plastic. There needs to be some clamp spots added to the base for drilling into harder surfaces to prevent the bit from 'walking'. Or a better method for starting holes on angles. It is portable, where a drill press is not. Still, the best solution to the problem, so far. Average Rating:![]() |

The Wolfcraft Drill Guide can be used in horizontal, vertical or angle positions, and fits all 1/4-inch or 3/8-inch drills. The Guide-bars themselves have springs for a quick return when doing repetitive drilling, while drill adapter itself slides up and down on guide-bars... |

DELTA DP300L 12-Inch TwinLaser Crosshair Drill PressReviewsI am just setting up my Father's woodworking equipment in my shop and needed a drill press to make game boards. The box was demolished but I had read the reviews and was not dismayed because I had been warned. It was well packed with no damage and assembly was easy including lining up the laser. Took about an hour. Works great. I probably would buy a bigger model to get more reach but this is a great machine and the price is right. The Box: I purchased this item from Summit Racing and it arrived in disarray. A thin cardboard box was all that separated many of the cast iron parts from the world. The styrofoam inside was all but disintegrated and there was only one piece of tape top and bottom and 3 straps holding it altogether (86 lbs mind you). Upon opening, nothing looked damaged and all the broken foam stayed in place. Assembly: I've never seen a tool more covered in grease. Much of the cast parts had a sticky residue, most likely cutting fluid during the last machining operation. Everything was oily, including the bag the manual was in and all the hardware bags. Parts seemed to fit rather sloppily and hose clamping the tool table behind the table height rack seemed like an afterthought in design. There were bits of what looked like sand from the casting process in the table mount clamp. Everything went together as expected until I got to the final step, attaching the chuck. The Problem: The chuck has a tapered hole that you're supposed to just mallet into the tapered end of the spindle. The first time, it fell back out so I obviously didn't hit it hard enough. I made sure there was no grease or particles in the taper and tried again. To make sure it stayed on, I pulled down on the chuck and the WHOLE SPINDLE FELL OUT. Upon examining the spindle, there looked to be a groove around the bottom of the splines for a snap ring. This was confirmed when trying to reinsert the spindle as it wouldn't go back in. A call to a repair center confirmed that I needed to remove the drive pulley from the top in order to get to the snap ring, still lodged inside. They advised me to use an impact wrench since there was no way to hold the pulley still while wrenching off the retaining nut. Following their instructions, the top of the stud came off with the nut and the pulley still wouldn't come off. After Delta tech support returned my call, they confirmed that the repair procedure was accurate and that the best course of action would simply be to return the unit and swap it out with another one. I live in CA and Summit Racing is in NV. To ship the unit back one state ground cost me $65. I've spent $65 on a $200 press that I never even turned on. That's an expensive lesson in my book. Conclusion: I've only heard good things about Delta products. Norm Abram on the New Yankee Workshop seems to swear by them for decades and I've never a problem with any of their sister brands such as Dewalt or Porter Cable. This purchase has been a grave disappointment that will cause much hesitation when considering another Delta product in the future. Given the poor reviews for their other model, the DP350 along with my first hand experience, I would NOT recommend ANY Delta drill presses until something significant changes in both their design and manufacturing abilities. Best of luck on your search. There is no better benchtop drill press but the Delta customer service couldn't get any worse. I don't know who to blame, Amazon or Delta. The box was beaten up and I realized that the chuck key was missing. I wrote Amazon and they told me to contact Delta or send the drill back for a complete replacement. Delta didn't respond and I wasn't about to send the drill back and risk having something worse happen to the replacement. I've purchased a few power tools on amazon and I don't remember any package showing up clean. The good out of this is Delta helped me make a decision on what table saw to purchase... SawStop thanks you Delta. I recommend purchasing this drill from a local retailer so you can deal with them versus amazon or delta. As for the drill press itself, putting it together was semi-challenging due to the poorly written instructions. What really stunk is adjusting the dual laser to hit the center. It's nearly impossible to do this due to the design of the adjustment levers (located inside the individual modules). The instructions tell you to remove the cap from each laser module but when you do this, the module wants to fall out of the base. After making the rough adjustments, because that's all you're able to do, you screw the cap back on and you end up trying to twist the module in the base to get the center. If you're lucky you'll get it close enough to give yourself a ROUGH idea of the drill center,,, TIP - don't get greedy and thinking you can get it dead-on you'll end up screwing it up and cursing the darn thing. For my adjustment I know the drill center is a smidge back from the crosshair intersection. After all of this the max score that this drill press could achieve is 3 stars because the drill itself is outstanding; minus 1 for lack of customer service, minus 1 for the frustration factor (missing chuck key, dual-laser calibration instructions/design). The lasers are a pain to adjust. The adjusters are sticky, the lock down screws are fussy. THe laser housings will go up and down in the holders making it hard to adjust them and lock them down. The laser beams themselves are fairly wide, so the precision of the center point is hard to determine. The attachment of the chuck to the shaft (pounding it with a hammer and a piece of wood) is stupid. It is not as true and accurate as I was led to believe from the reviews. This is my first drill press and for a sub $200 drill press it appears to be the best in breed in terms of features and quality. Assembling the drill was straight forward and the instructions were clear. The laser alignment was a little tricky and I ended up adjusting it by hand rather than using the method described in the manual. Once set, it was good. While I was assembling the drill press the movement of the quill was sticky and would not fully reset until after I turned the machine on. I then proceeded to drill 512 1/8" holes in pine and it recessed properly every time. As I drilled the holes I noticed there was a grinding sound emanating from the gear box as mentioned in another review, but it did not affect the drill's operation. The drill's operation was smooth, but the depth stop is cheap and difficult to set. Once it was set, it stayed set for all 512 holes. The external parts do seem a little light weigh like the handles, the depth stop, the table crank, and the annoying grinding sound in the gear box. However, the drill table and drill base are solid metal, the motor is strong and smooth, the drill accurate, and the speed is easily adjusted. But it cannot be overstated how bad the shipping box's condition was when it arrived. The box was shredded and the foam packing core was crushed. I have no idea whether the shipper or the warehouse is to blame. However, several other reviewers have stated the same thing. The only damage was the speed belt housing cover clip which was bent. I was able to bend it back out. This was not the first time I have ordered from Amazon and had the product arrive in a damaged box. Hopefully Amazon is looking into this issue. All in all I am happy with the drill. I got a lot of use out of it and it worked well. The shipping issue needs to be addressed and it cost the drill a star. The cheap feeling parts are what keeps the drill under $200, and have little bearing on its operation. Plus the laser guide is a nice addition. So for money, it is a good value. And thanks to the reviewers that wrote about the Delta 20-619 6-Inch Drill Press Vise not fitting the DP300L, despite Amazon's advice to the contrary. You saved me time, money, and frustration! Milescraft 1213 Complete Door Mortising KitReviewsI just purchased this product today and find Kieth's comments spot on. Having used another brand, I had some simple expectations - consistent, repeatable execution of the hinge mortises. Attempting to set this up revealed sloppy tolerances, and far too much work to ensure true alignment to the edges of the door. It looks like a good way to ruin a door. Unlike Kieth, I am not willing to rework this to make it tolerable. I will return it and try another option. I bought this kit for my daughter and son-in-law when they decided to replace all the doors in their home with 6 panel doors; not pre-hung. After a few practice tries on the edge of one of their old doors, they were able to use a router and the template to cut out for the hinges and strikeplate on the doors. That was their first time to use a router. For the price, this is certainly worth it for a homeowner quality tool. It worked well and certainly was better than the traditional chisel and hammer approach. I had ten doors to do and while using the nails to hold the template jig on was a slight pain, it was worth the cost, results, and overall time savings. Heavy duty pro quality. Novice users should take instructions to the door to be worked on and they will be clear. Easy to understand instructions and easy set-up make this a very handy jig for building and installing doors. The Art of the Tactical CarbineReviewsThis training video is excelent! If you own a carbine rifle this is a good investment. Shure you may have an AR or AK and you may know how to shoot it, but do you know how to USE it when the chips are down? This video will show you how to USE your carbine to its full potential. The cost of these videos is cheap money compared to the many courses you would have to go to to pick up this level of detail. And courses can't be rewound and watched again later! You can watch these videos (including II) as a beginner and slingshot yourself forward in your training. And experienced shooters will pick up ideas and hardware tips that will keep them busy for weeks on the range. Sure, some items are covered superficially, but the Art of the Tactical Carbine is a lifetime study, and these boys crammed one heck of a lot into these videos. Thanks guys! If you own a tactical carbine you MUST buy this tape. I own 4 and thought I knew how to shoot them until I saw this! Real world, excellent instruction by guys who really have done this before. Everything from trigger movement to rolling along barricades as a team. When I first saw the Samuari on the cover I thought it was corny. Ha Ha - It actually fits well! BUY THIS DVD and really learn combat shooting! Mine came came scratched and they (Defense Solutions Group) replaced it no problem very quickly. This was a great insight to hands on training of tactics and how to maneuver with your AR-15 or other rifle. The instructors are great and very knowledgeable. By far best DVD I bought this year! As expected, Magpul has delivered another high quality product to the shooting community. The Art of the Tactical Carbine is by far the most comprehensive and informative DVD available on this subject. As the title implies, Chris Costa and Travis Hadley have truly refined the application of the tactical carbine to an art. In this instructional video Chris Costa and Travis Hadley take a class of people with little or no formal weapons training and begin with bare-bones fundamentals. On disc one(Fundamentals) the basics of rifle marksmanship are covered in detail including: weapons gear, proper weapon grip and stance, admin/speed/tactical reloads, press checks, solving malfunctions, shooting on the move and barricade drills. Disc two(Advanced Skills) covers rapid threat analysis and acquisition, transition to secondary weapon, advanced shooting on the move, multiple target engagement, right and left side shooting, and advanced failure drills. Disc three features a breakdown of every drill shown on discs one and two in detail and in full/half/and slow motion. Also included on disc three is a review of many accessories and furniture designed for AR type weapons on the market and the pro's and con's of each, an overview of weapons nomenclature/disassembly/maintenance, and weapons storage and travel. The professionalism and depth of knowledge of these two men are of the highest caliber and although I have not seen many instructional videos on the subject I do have some knowledge and experience in the tactical shooting arena. I can say with certainty that the drills and techniques provided and implemented by Chris Costa and Travis Hadley are without a doubt the most efficient and effective developed in the field of tactical shooting to date. Although this series isn't cheap, it is the best instruction you will find without paying $300+ for formal classes. Average Rating:![]() |

Force-on-Force Handgun Drills: A Video Guide to Interactive Gunfight TrainingReviewsThis DVD and its companion book Force-On-Force Gunfight Training: The Interactive, Reality-Based Solution are excellent tools for taking firearms training past the square range live-fire. I'm a law enforcement firearms instructor, and have introduced several of the drills and techniques Gabe Suarez outlines, into the training sessions I conduct. I feel they have been very successful, and the officers & agents I introduced to them were very receptive and appreciative. There's no magic or "special tactics" here, as any real fighter knows, "advanced tactics" are just the basics executed very well. But, new approaches and ideas keep your training from getting stale. I can't recommend this strongly enough. Average Rating:![]() |

Ultimate Kicking Drills [VHS]ReviewsThe video covers flexibility, coordination, power, timing, accuracy and training. Sang H. Kim, the presenter, does a good job explaining all of the drills and their importance. He also demonstrates all of the drills, himself, and does them quite impressively. The production quality of this tape is top notch, and there is DVD version as well. The graphics are well done, the video crisp, and there are many helpful diagrams. The audio quality is good up until the scene at the Korean training hall. You will know what I mean when hear it.One of the guys watching with me is an experienced kickboxer and he was impressed with most of the drills. He had seen a few top kickboxers performing these same drills. However, he did say that the video was geared more towards Tae Kwon Do, meaning point fighting instead of free fighting. This is definitely true, especially when you get into aerial kicking. I agree that this is not very effective in the ring, but doing it for training purposes develops proprioception and balance. The section on flexibility shows both static and dynamic stretches. Unfortunately, it does not cover PNF principles. Some people might worry that he demonstrates ballistic stretching, but from everything that I've heard, this is fine for martial artists. His section on training is actually pretty well done. He even mentions that heavy lifting for low reps is good for martial artists. Although, he also advocates high reps if they are done rapidly. Both of these principles work quite well with the Party line. My only complaint is that most of the weight training he demonstrates in single joint and on machines. Some of his ab and core drills were unique and I actually liked them quite a bit. The best part of the training section is the explosive drills for improving the speed of your kicks. This is a video that I would recommend to any martial artist. I think most fighters would fight it useful as well. It is a finely crafted production and is one of the nicest looking instructional videos I have ever seen. Ultimate Kicking Drills lives up to its name. Average Rating:![]() |
